Though Beaujolais' fans ain't quite what they used to be, the tasty French wine still commands attention and the annual celebrations of its release on the third Thursday of November still pull in a good francophile-friendly crowd. Of course, not everyone likes to go out and celebrate a new wine on a school night. Which is one of the reasons why the San Francisco French-American Chamber of Commerce's annual soirée celebrating all things "Beaujolais and beyond" lands on this Saturday evening at the Embarcadero Center Hyatt Regency. Beyond lots of wine tasting, the evening will also feature various French foods, a fashion show and a silent auction. When the event ends at 9:30 PM, the space will turn into a cash-bar after-party to celebrate le bon temps (November 22, 5:30–9:30 PM; $70 per person; 5 Embarcadero Ctr.; tickets available at the door or online).
