January is almost over, but for Palo Alto's Tamarine and its SoMa sibling Bong Su, the New Year is just getting started. The two restaurants are celebrating Tet, the Vietnamese celebration of the lunar new year, on January 29th and 30th, respectively. Chef Tammy Huynh has added à la carte dishes with ingredients designed to promote happiness (lobster), wealth (pomelo), and longevity and health (whole striped bass). In addition, the evenings include fortune-teller readings and a "Feed the Dragon Red Envelope" parade that winds through the dining room (January 29 at Tamarine, 5–10 PM; 650-325-8500; January 30 at Bong Su, 5–10 PM; 415-536-5800).
