Celebrate Mardi Gras on February 24 with food, drink and fun.
Chenery Park: This Glen Park New American-Cajun goes all out on Tuesday with a special menu, including favorites such as shrimp beignets, crawfish, andouille sausage, spicy seafood gumbo and fried catfish. To round out the festivities, beads and coins will be offered, and costumes are encouraged (5:30–9:30 PM; 415-337-8537).
Elite Café: This Upper Fillmore Cajun is decorating with beads and other festive touches, and will offer New Orleans' cocktails like sazeracs and bananas Fosters. Ten percent of the evening's revenue will be donated to Katrina relief funds. (4–10 PM; 415-673-5483).
Ozumo: This Oakland Japanese will host a “East Meets West” celebration, which will include live drummers and samba dancers, a DJ and Brazilian drink specials (starts at 5 PM; 510-286-9866).
