Haute hot-dog purveyor Let’s Be Frank, whose carts can be found at Chrissy Field and AT&T Park (as well as various outdoor locations in LA), will open its first brick-and-mortar outpost in the Marina on May 11. The shop, which will be open seven days a week, was designed by architect Cass Calder Smith (Restaurant LuLu), although it's not going to be terribly large – “really just like a hot dog cart without the wheels,” confesses founder Larry Bain – with limited counter seating and a few tables outside. In addition to the usual selection of sustainably made wursts, the spot will debut a new grass-fed-beef chili, and there will also be wine, beer and ice cream sandwiches from Bi-Rite Creamery (3318 Steiner St).
