Daniel Patterson’s quick-service rotisserie and sandwich shop, Il Cane Rosso, is expected to open in the Ferry Building in June. Chef Lauren Kiino will run the kitchen, overseeing a breakfast and lunch menu that revolves around the shop’s rotisserie, on which they’ll roast whole chickens, pigs and other meats. Also on offer will be a selection of antipasti and sandwiches, Italian in origin, but sourced at vaunted local purveyors like Prather Ranch, Star Route Farms and Straus Dairy.
