After 15 years in business, chef-owner David Gingrass will be closing his restaurant, TWO (a redux of his venerable Hawthorne Lane restaurant), on December 19. However, the space tucked away on 22 Hawthorne Lane won’t remain vacant for long. The Chronicle reports that former French Laundry protégé Corey Lee has snapped it up and will open his first independent venture, named Benu after the Egyptian version of the mythical phoenix, in spring 2010.
