Coming Soon: Hook, Majestic and More

Hook: Helmed by chef Barton Seaver (ex Café Saint-Ex), this sustainable seafood–focused venture will be moored in Cilantro's old Georgetown berth, serving casual fare in front and fancier market-driven meals in back and upstairs as of late April or early May. Seaver's photos of local food markets will adorn the walls.

Majestic: Cathal and Meshelle Armstrong (Restaurant Eve, Eammon's/A Dublin Chippery, PX) are reopening the just-shuttered Majestic Café in Old Town, where they'll serve American comfort food (roast chicken, family-style meatloaf) and classic cocktails – just as soon as they finish giving the interior a warmer feel and a roomier bar.

Not Your Average Joe's: This Boston-based restaurant chain, which serves American "city food" in the suburbs, is bringing its something-for-everyone menu and neighborhood-friendly vibes to the Lansdowne Town Center's mock-village-style mall (19307 Promenade Dr.) in early April.

The Source: Transparency (filmy fabric panels, see-through screens printed with text motifs) is a fitting design theme for this multilevel dining venue at the forthcoming Newseum (Pennsylvania Ave. & 6th St. NW), where Wolfgang Puck Enterprises will reinterpret dishes from its Spago, Chinois and Postrio restaurants; it's slated to open this summer.

A casual, contemporary American venue in the soon-to-reopen, redesigned Renaissance M Street Hotel in the West End (1143 New Hampshire Ave. NW) will feature Illy coffee both by the cup and in dishes like espresso-rubbed flatiron steak.
