Holiday Menus Celebrate Seafood

Both outposts of Hank's Oyster Bar (Dupont Circle and Old Town, Alexandria) are ringing in the season with a "Twelve Seafood Dishes of Christmas" platter ($75) that offers an edible twist on the holiday carol – one cup of ceviche, two jumbo shrimp, three golden scallops, four BBQ’ed oysters, five littleneck clams, six West Coast oysters, seven peel 'n' eats, eight Ipswich clams, nine golden rings (calamari), ten fried oysters, 11 steamed mussels and 12 East Coast oysters. The platter serves four to eight people and is available during the month of December.

Meanwhile, the traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes will be celebrated at Penn Quarter Italian D'Acqua throughout December (except Christmas Eve and Day). The $75 prix fixe dinner menu enables fin-fans to sample the likes of capesante croccanti (scallops with prosciutto, roasted garlic and saba sauce) and strozzapreti con ragu di pesce (pasta with seafood ragout and lobster sauce). Diners also receive a complimentary gift jar of seasonings.
