Opening in early March, Asia Nine will draw Penn Quarter diners who are looking for midpriced Chinese, Japanese (there's a sushi bar) and Southeast Asian favorites along with a comprehensive sake list in a super-stylish setting; its bar/lounge and main dining areas will be illuminated by a large, glowing washi paper sculpture on the rear wall, while other decor embellishments will include a waterfall and bamboo-wrapped banquettes beneath a floating trellis (915 E St. NW; 202-629-4355).
