Corduroy's recently renovated kitchen

When Tom Powers reopens Corduroy, his highly regarded New American, in its swank new digs in a charmingly renovated townhouse across from the Convention Center on Thursday, surveyors who dubbed the old decor “lame” may be pleased to see the honey-and-almond-toned ground-floor dining room with colorful modern art on the walls and the black-leather-clad upstairs bar/lounge. The new, large modern kitchen boasts a state-of-the-art Molteni range allowing Powers and his staff (nearly all made it through the move) to create intricate seasonal dishes like rabbit four ways (1122 Ninth St. NW; 202-589-0699).
