When you go out for a nice meal, you're hoping you'll get the chef's best. On Monday, June 16th, at the 18th annual Chef's Best Dinner & Auction at the Hilton Washington, you can expect just that from a slew of some 60 culinary stars – including Patrick O'Connell (Inn at Little Washington), Jeffrey Buben and R.J. Cooper (Vidalia, Bistro Bis) – who will be serving innovative, one-of-a-kind dishes at a dramatically staged, walk-around tasting. Comedienne Suzanne Westenhoefer will be on hand to rev up the raffle and live auction. All of the evening's activities will benefit Food & Friends, an organization that provides services for people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses (6–9:30 PM; $250 per person; 1919 Connecticut Ave. NW; for information and tickets, go to www.foodandfriends.org).
