Pig fests seem to be popping up all over, but on Sunday, September 28th, Eric Ziebold (CityZen), Robert Wiedmaier (Marcel's), Michel Richard (Central, Citronelle) and other top toques will show DC how it's done á la française at "La Fête du Cochon," a porcine celebration with food, live entertainment and a pétanque competition. On the menu are specialties like pork cheeks and belly, sausage, ribs, pâtés and a bone-in-ham, buttressed by side dishes and pastries – all washed down, bien sûr, by champagne and French beer and wine. Sponsored by the French International Culinary Society, the event will be held at the Three Fox Vineyards in the Northern Virginia Hunt Country (noon–5 PM; $45 per person including food and wine; $35 for members of the FICS; 10100 Three Fox Ln., Delaplane, VA; advance registration required; for tickets call 301-340-7855).
