Taste-Test Two Neighborhoods

The next two weekends will offer gastronomes a chance to sample the cuisine of two tony neighborhoods. On Saturday, October 4th, some 50 Bethesda restaurants, including Passage to India and Jaleo, will sell tastes of their diverse fare, while live entertainment fills four stages. The event is located along Norfolk, Fairmont, St. Elmo, Cordell and Del Ray Avenues in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle (11 AM–4 PM; free admission; bundle of four taste tickets costs $5; see more information).

The following Saturday, October 11th, many of Georgetown’s dining establishments, including 1789, Filomena and La Chaumière, will show off their wares, and a celebrity-guest panel headed by Food Network star Marc Silverstein will offer its verdict on the best appetizer, entree and dessert. A New and Old World wine pavilion will tempt vinophiles, while live music and children’s activities add extra fun (11 AM–4 PM; free admission; $5 per tasting ticket; $10 per person for entry into wine pavilion; Wisconsin Ave. and M St. NW; see more information).
