Cooking With Les Dames d’ Escoffier
A dozen top women toques, including Nora Pouillon (Nora), Ris Lacoste (the upcoming ris) and cookbook author and TV host Joan Nathan, will demonstrate culinary tricks found in the Cooking With Les Dames d’ Escoffier book at this champagne buffet brunch to be held in the new CulinAerie cooking school (1131 14th St. NW) on Sunday, December 7th.
Watch them make 12 dishes like Asia Steak Nora with fennel salad, creamy feta potatoes and challah bread and then enjoy the same dishes (cooked by Top Chef contestant Carla Hall) while sipping bubbly and assorted wines. Proceeds from the event, including sales of the cookbook, benefit scholarship programs offered by the DC chapter of Les Dames d’ Escoffier (noon–2 PM; $70 per person; $60 for members; to reserve, send an e-mail to lesdamesdc@aol.com or call 202-273-2181).
