Just because you're single doesn't mean Valentine's Day has to be a stay-alone evening with pizza delivery and Netflix. Here are some options:
The New Mexico Avenue location of Chef Geoff's is hosting a SinglesMingles Valentine's Day dinner where you can come solo or with friends to enjoy hors d’oeuvres plus three courses served family-style ($60, includes unlimited specialty cocktails and house wines; 202-821-0357).
EatBar (at Tallula) is holding an "Anti-Hallmark Valentine's Day Contest" where guests will design sentimentality-bucking cards while nibbling on “singles platters” of cheeses, charcuterie and other snacks ($18). All the card makings are provided gratis, and there will be prizes (703-778-9951).
Finally, for those looking to celebrate their singlehood sometime other than Valentine’s Day, Inn at Little Washington is throwing a singles supper on February 1st and March 22nd. Chef-owner Patrick O’Connell will host up to 12 guests at his chef’s table in the state-of-the-art kitchen (5 PM, $165, includes tasting menu, wine, taxes and gratuity; 540-675-3800).
