Embassy chefs from Afghanistan, Haiti, Hungary, Morocco, Trinidad and Tobago will vie for a “Top Chef” title at Cultural Tourism DC’s gala held tonight at the Mexican Cultural Institute (2829 16th St. NW). Guests will taste the entries, along with a panel of judges including Top Chef finalist Carla Hall, Hell’s Kitchen winner Rock Harper (Next Door) and other chefs, restaurateurs and food writers. Cocktails, a buffet, entertainment and a silent auction round out an evening that benefits a coalition of 200 culture, heritage and community-based organizations (6:30-10 PM; $225 per person; 202-661-7561).
