Festive options for celebrating Passover will be offered by several area restaurants. Most will serve special dishes throughout the entire eight days of the festival, which starts at sundown on Wednesday, April 8, and runs through April 15. Additionally, starting today, handmade matzo can be ordered from Bread Line.
Dino: At this Cleveland Parker, from April 8–15, owner Dean Gold is hosting a five-course dinner inspired by his mother’s recipes ($55 per person), with an optional four glasses of wine ($30). For those wishing to recite the traditional service on the first two nights, a ceremonial seder plate will be provided. Customers can also order its regular Italian fare during the holiday (202-686-2966; reserve online).
Hudson: Alongside its regular menus, this New American in the West End will offer gefilte fish, brisket and other traditional favorites (à la carte), plus kosher wines and matzo, on April 8, 9 and 10 (202-872-8700; reserve online).
Rosa Mexicano: From April 8–15, chicken soup, chopped liver and other à la carte holiday staples will get a twist with jalapeño, chipotle and other zingy seasonings at both branches of this Mexican; additionally, there will be a cooking demonstration and luncheon featuring this fare on April 11 at the Penn Quarter location (10 AM; $35; 202-654-7010).
Tragara: In Bethesda, celebrants can enjoy à la carte dishes like gefilte fish and roast lamb prepared in the Sephardic Italian style, as well as a bevy of kosher desserts, including strawberry roulade, haroset ice cream and hazelnut dacquoise (April 8–15; 301-951-4935; reserve online).
