Easter Feasting

Easter Bunny photo ops, homemade Peeps, Lebanese traditions and lavish brunches are on the menu at area restaurants celebrating this springtime holiday.

Belga Café: Early birds can head to this Capitol Hill Belgian that will be dishing up green eggs and ham, waffles and crêpes, and topping Bloody Marys with celery foam, for an à la carte brunch served in its cozy brick interior and on its weather-protected patio from 9 AM until 4 PM (202-544-0100).

Blue Duck Tavern: Posh surroundings and seasonal favorites are the recipe for an elegant holiday brunch at this West End American that will serve a three-course meal, including help-yourself appetizer and dessert spreads, and served entrees like leg of lamb, prime rib or fish (10:30 AM–3:45 PM; $85 per adult, $42 per child six–12; 202-419-6755).

Bombay Club: A champagne buffet brunch of traditional Indian cooking served in an atmosphere that harks back to the days of the Raj, with ornate rugs, slow-moving fans, large leafy plants and live piano music, is quite a deal at $28 with free-flowing bubbly while you eat (11:30 AM–2:30 PM; 202-659-3727).

Cafe Milano: Sit on the terrace and enjoy Georgetown at its glorious best while indulging in numerous trips to this tony Italian’s plenteous buffet laden with antipasti, seafood, a carving station, pastas and desserts (11:30 AM–3PM; $80 per adult, $35 per child six–12; 202-333-6183).

Lebanese Taverna: Celebrate the holiday with a three-course Middle Eastern lunch featuring roast lamb and ma’amoul (nut-and date-filled cookies) for $29, served alongside the regular menu at all six of the restaurant’s full-service locations. There will also be a game where attendees tap eggs, and the holder of the strongest egg at each table gets good luck for the year – and a gift certificate from the restaurant (view participating locations).

Restaurant 3: This Clarendon American is making its own “Peeps,” melt-in-your-mouth marshmallows with a sugary crust, molded into fanciful shapes, which will be gifted to diners throughout Easter week, and will be a highlight of an April 12 brunch buffet that includes everything from breakfast favorites to carved meats (noon–3 PM; $24 per adult, $12 per child under 12; 703-524-4440).

Roof Terrace at Kennedy Center: The Easter Bunny will be greeting guests (and posing for pics) at this scenic New American’s brunch, where guests cruise the kitchen to fill their plates from a bounteous array of dishes; parents will enjoy a complimentary mimosa or glass of bubbly, while the kids get special treats (11 AM–2 PM; $39.95 per adult; $20 per child; 202-416-8555).
