Roll up your shirtsleeves, tuck a napkin under your chin and get ready for some messy eating of the kind that city folk don't normally find nearby.
Pickin' peppery, hard-shell crabs partnered with a cooling beer is a close-to-home possibility on Art & Soul's patio each Wednesday night from 5:30–10:30 PM. The deal includes corn on the cob, potatoes and hushpuppies, and is market-priced. Area breweries are tapped for its suds list, with buckets of 7-oz. "nips" available for $14. And of course, you can always bring Fido along with you – he's even got his own menu (202-393-7777).
And there's no need to travel to Louisiana to nosh on spice-boiled crawfish or shrimp. Acadiana hosts crawfish boils every Thursday and Friday, from 4–6:30 PM, on its sidewalk cafe. Crawfish ($14/lb.) and shrimp ($17/lb.) are accompanied by potatoes and corn on the cob, not to mention $12 buckets of Abita beers (202-408-8848).
