DC Public School Chancellor Michelle Rhee takes on tough challenges in the classroom. But how does she do in the kitchen? We’ll find out on November 12, from 7–9 PM, when she joins Top Chef finalist Carla Hall and cookbook author Delilah Winder for the “TrueFlavors Celebrity Cookoff,” a benefit for TrueChild. Two teams – each composed of a celebrity, a notable chef and an audience member (who will have won the spot in an auction held during the reception hour) – will prepare a three-course meal from mystery ingredients in 40 minutes. The audience will also bid for slots on the judges’ roster. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be passed throughout the evening, which takes place at CulinAerie’s state-of-the-art kitchen (1131 14th St. NW). Do note that there are just 100 spaces, so reserve soon ($150; for more information and tickets, click here).
