On Wednesday, October 21, use warming soup from Café Atlántico, Clyde’s or PS 7's to fill one of 250 "Empty Bowls" crafted by local artists from the House of Artistry, the Capitol Arts Workshop and the Torpedo Factory. Guests will be able to add a crusty Bread Line roll to their meal and sit at communal tables, while speakers share how the $25 (or more) that each diner contributed for lunch provides some 75 meals for hungry homeless people through the Capital Area Food Bank. And when all is done, as a bonus, donors get to keep the handcrafted bowls (11 AM–2:30 PM; DLA Piper Building, 500 Eighth St. NW; for more information, call 202-526-5344, ext. 234).
