Eatonville, the U Street NW restaurant that pays tribute to author/anthropologist Nora Zeale Hurston, will bring the story to the table at monthly “Food and Folklore” events. The initial dinner on November 13 will feature some of Hurston’s favorite dishes, including fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy catfish with shrimp remoulade, hopping john and cinnamon tea cake. Valerie Boyd, author of Wrapped In Rainbows: The Life of Zora Neale Hurston, will tell tales of the writer's life and times, and guests are encouraged to linger over dessert and conversation (6:30 PM; $45, includes wine; reserve at 202-332-9672).
