Another vote for missing The Quilted Giraffe. Only downer was when my wife would go there with woman friends they treated them with less attentiveness than when she was there with "freespending "hubbies. Still I miss Barry Wine...

Grants on 42nd Street, just off Times Square. Two bars, greasy hamburgers, cheap and fresh seafood, open 24 hours a day, sleazy clientele. Disney, go home.

I've been trying for thirty years to find someone who could remember the amazing if always slightly disreputable Grants at the corner of 42nd and Seventh in Times Square, next door to the New Amesterdam Theatre where "Mary Poppins" is now playing. Grant's vanished in the early . About ten different dedicated food counters. First on the left sold great French Fries the size of thumbs in a china bowl, and had excellent Rheingold Scotch Ale on draft for fifteen or twenty cents. Incredibly good little greasy hamburgers for a quarter, sat in onions. Soda fountain where an ice cream soda went for a quarter in a paper cup. Long bar where all the pimps hung out, Grant's "Big Shot" of well-brand whiskey was 60 cents. Clam bar at the back (never had the courage to have raw seafood there.) Any further memories, DavidS ???

Just closed a last month, will long miss Susanna Foo (French Chinese) in Philadelphia as well as their short-lived Suilan at Borgata in Atl. City. Both amazing, never to be repeated restaurants. Hope the remaining Radnor location improves to those standards now under full time attention of Susanna.

La Caravelle NYC. They pampered you with great haute cuisine. Andre was the consummate host. Sorely missed.

It was with great saddness that I saw our favorite restaurant, Carambola's in Dresher, PA, closed. In the 11 years that I had been going there, I never had a bad meal. Every item was consistently prepared and never a miss. And I am not the only one - the people I had recommended go there were also disappointed. I will be keeping my eye's out to see if Daniel Nejberger will be opening another restaurant in the future.

Cafe des Artistes. How sad. Another NY landmark closes. I hope the wonderful Christy murals are saved.

It is so sad that Cafe des Artiste has closed its doors. A smile will always come to my face when I think about the warm wonderful memories of my dining experiences.

Now i'm only speaking for myself cause i know that there are some people who dislike Beningans but I loved there food...especially their chicken tenders and fries so plump and juicy with that crunchy coating i couldn't get enough of their broccoli bites and their southwest sample platter which featured these southwestern eggrolls with a sweetish sauce omg WHY??!??!

The original Lundy's in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Best biscuits in the world. Wished it lasted forever.

L'Impero in NYC: Had some of the best creative meals there.

All the old Ratner's dairy restaurants in NYC. Food was consistently great and the waiters were all characters; "I've been working here for 28 years. You think I forgot you need butter for your bread?!?!".

    Only the best!
