    Tarry Lodge Port Chester NY

Mario Batali has broken out of the city and come north to Westchester.
One word comes to mind after dining at the new restaurant. FRESH
The pizza is out of this world and the pasta even better. Check out the wine list !

Parking may be a bit of a challenge though. A valet will probably be needed after the new opening hype dies down.

Dined there yesterday, late afternoon. They have expanded their hours of operation...so though it was bustling, had no problem securing a table. My dining partner and I both agreed it was a great experience...we did a run thru the menu and everything we tried was uniquely flavorful: Gorgonzola with walnut salad; vitello tonnato (lovely); speck, tallegio, radicchio and roasted olive pizza (amazing); lasagna alla Napoletana, a Sunday special (delicious but perhaps a bit overpriced at $24.); chocolate cake with tasty pistachio ice cream on the side; lemon cheese cake with fine lemon ice cream on the side...washed down with a quartino of Calea Nero...they were out of the Bastianich wine I had wanted but it turned out fine. Service was most accommodating and friendly...and prices were right overall.
By the way, while Joe Bastianich and Mario Batali are behind the scenes here it is Chef Andy Nusser of Casa Mono in Manhattan that carries the kitchen at this Westchester outpost. We will return...
