Want to take my daughter out this weekend as congrats for getting into med school but I am out of touch with trendy, nouvelle, not too expensive (esp. given med school tuition) NYC restaurants. Any suggestions?

Two of my favorites in New York
Bar Americain West 53rd Street (a BobbyFlay restaurant)
Beacon - West 56th Street -
Both are relatively moderate but great eating places
never lose interest
