Head back to school – scotch school – when Cathal Armstrong, of Washington, DC's Restaurant Eve, leads a four-course class paired with handcrafted scotches at the De Gustibus Cooking School. A scotch expert will be on hand to explain the differences between blends and how to best pair them at home, while Armstrong walks through (and feeds you) dishes like tartar of shimaaji, smoked haddock and cockle "chowder," roasted loin of venison and terrine of Cashel Blue. This is one class you will be thrilled to go back to school for.

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic East Village institution with recipes and cocktails from the new commemorative Rizzoli book, Indochine Stories Shaken and Stirred. Beginning with the signature Indochine martini, the night's menu features favorites from the past quarter century as well as new classics including summer rolls, spicy beef salad, amok Cambodgien, glazed duck breast and Vietnamese bouillabaisse. For those that want to take the tastes of the night, and the party of past 25 years home, restaurant owner Jean-Marc Houmard will be on hand to personally sign your copy.

Hop on the Philippe Chow Express and meet chef-owner Philippe Chow for an evening of wine, cooking and dinner to celebrate the first anniversary of the trendy East Sider's West Village outpost. Chow will be on hand to demonstrate how to make his first-rate fare and chat about his move Downtown, after which guests can choose three courses off a special menu that includes delicious staples like chicken or beef satay, wok-fried beef dumplings, chicken lettuce wraps, Beijing chicken, green prawns and crispy beef. An assortment of sorbets will end the night – though chances are it will not be your last on the Express.

Join renowned sake sommelier Chris Johnson as he discusses and selects sakes to perfectly complement each of the seven courses prepared at this Hell's Kitchen eatery, famous for their homemade tofu and award-winning cupcakes. The evening's dishes include roasted kabocha and chestnut soup, warm Japanese mushroom salad, pan-seared Saikyo miso cod and sake-and-ginger-braised pork belly. For a guilt-free finish to the night, enjoy two of their decadent soy-based Japanese modern desserts including a peppermint mochi chocolate cake with green tea shiro-an cream and cranberry-pepper sauce.
