“One of NY’s oldest bars”, this Hudson Square “classic” erected in 1817 has “lots of history behind it”, but today it’s a charmingly “shabby” joint furnished with a mix of “antiques and found objects”; frequented by everyone from “bikers to bohemians”, it’s a “place for a PBR, not a Pinot Noir” (though it does sell wine), and has been around so long “because it knows how to make people happy.”
