An unlikely location (opposite the NY Public Library’s main branch) and a hard-to-find basement setting aren’t keeping the crowds away from this new lounge in the Andaz 5th Avenue Hotel; like its Downtown sibling, Bar Seven Five, it eschews the traditional long bartop in favor of a more casual ‘bar station’ plopped down in the center of the room, and ups the ante with the most open open kitchen in town.
