Update: The sweet potato fries no longer come with a dip, and the waitress told me they never did! Review:Inside the 29 is a welcome cavernous retreat from the bustle of shopping on Newbury street. If you prefer to people watch outdoor seating is available weather permitting. The sweet potato fries and dip keep me coming back for more. The staff is attentive but in no way over bearing. The menu offers something for everyone including vegetarian
Service was a little slow but friendly, and the food was more than worth the wait. Our group got everything from the duck to the lobster mac&cheese to the burgers, and everyone was satisfied. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Decent food that is interesting without being really special and the patio is great. The inside was very cold and is dated, as others say. We found the service to be enthusiastic rather than solid. We never got bread and had three different stories as to why not. It was a fine place for us for not too heavy a meal on Newbury Street but I would not hurry back.
Better than it used to be, but still decidedly unexceptional.
Best steakhouse in Boston!
