After a hard day's shopping at Roosevelt Field Mall, why not enjoy a relaxing and sumptious luncheon rather getting a snack in the food court? Akbar is an above average Indian restaurant with a reasonably-priced luncheon buffet. Only complaint is that there seems to be less choices in the buffet than in previous visits. Have also ordered from the menu, where the food is even better, but a bit pricey.
Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Long Island. I'm a frequent customer who has always been impressed by the consistency of the food quality and service at the restaurant. The renovations look amazing!
This is mainly about the buffet menu choice. Please don't get me wrong the food was good, it's the selection or lack thereof that I had a problem with. I've been to many "Indian Buffets" during my time and this by far was the worst menu i've experienced. Akbar only had one meat curry style dish ( goat dish) along with the tandoori chicken (6 pcs). Food was good & I know times are tough but PS Akbar put more food (meat) on the table.
Expensive but good Indian food. Sagg paneer is perfect.
Very authentic Indian Cuisine
