great service, creative Italian with a more formal, yet comfortable atmosphere.
Without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Little Italy. Maybe even the best restaurant in Baltimore. Have been here 3X in the past 2 years & have never been disappointed. Everything has been outstanding. I particularly liked their wine list, which includes many small, but outstanding, Italian wineries. A bit expensive, but I'd much rather spend the money for a great meal then mediocre food in a tourist trap in the inner harbor.
As a die-hard Boccaccio fan, I had hoped Aldo's could compete or at least come in a close second to what was the best Italian in Baltimore. Unfortunately, my first visit will be my last (at least my wallet)- Aldo's did not deliver on either count. Please know that the restaurant is attractive, and the service is fine but the food was lackluster all around - no dessert. My party of four tried a variety of dishes - none of which were noteworthy.
Service was the worst ever experienced as a frequent world diner. Reservation at 7:00 on Saturday. Restaurant was not busy at that time. Had to search for the Hostess, 10 minutes, then search for Don the Waiter, 15 minutes. After a full 2 hours we had received only 1 appetizer and bread, no salad nor entree nor explanation. We requested check to leave w/o entree. The entrees were on the check with comment "they will arrive any moment". BYE
Help Needed!
For the first time, I left a restaurant prior to enjoying a meal. After 45 minutes we had neither drinks nor the opportunity to order our food. Several times we attempted to gain the attention of a waiter only to be told, one would come.
However add insult to injury as the staff displayed no desire to assist and basically told us' "it was not their problem". I dont believe I have ever experienced quite this rude attitude
