The food is very good, the decor, while not my style personally, is nice, and I suppose I can see the appeal, and the service is wonderful. The prices are a bit high, but about what you'd expect. The atmosphere can come off as a bit pretentious, but it's still a pleasant dining experience.
It was an awesome experience. Definitely more expensive than I anticipated. If you go to Alinea, you have to do the wine pairing. Presentation was half experience.
We had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was friendly, competent and unpretentious. They were very attentive to our wine preference as far as quantity and each dish was well timed. The food speaks for itself with creative and tasty preparations. The quantity was just right. Despite a somewhat daunting booking experience definitely would do it again.
After my third time at Alinea, I must revise my previous glowing review. The food is still amazing, and the wine pairings were perfect. However, the service most recently was lacking for this level of dining. Servers lacked refinement and polish, and instead seemed amateur-ish. The pace was interrupted with long waits a few times, detracting from the precession. If Chef Achatz wants to keep his third Michelin star, he needs to focus on service.
Best dining experience to date. Food is mind blowing in technique and flavor. Grant deserves the praise.
