Solid sushi
Although I've lived in the neighborhood for many years, I had never been to Amber until a friend --who had formerly worked in the area--invited me there. What a surprise! The food was infinitely better than most Chinese restaurants, and the setting was elegant. This is not your mother's Chinese restaurant at all!
sports bar with good asian style food. Can be very noisy especially if all the TVs on and the windows opened to outdoor sidewalk seating.
Better than average neighborhood sushi and Chinese food. If you get there early--before 6:30pm, the not-twenty-something crowd can enjoy a good dinner in relative peace and quiet. As the crowd gathers, however, take-out is the more relaxing option.
"Very expensive for what you get. The service is pushy, and the space feels cold. The sushi dishes are well prepared, but not worth the high prices. This restaurant needs to decide who they are catering to - quick, casual neighborhood spot or trendy ""scene"". Right now they try to do both and achieve neither."
