I just ate here for the first time since it was in my neighborhood. I have been to a lot of sushi/japanese restaurants in Chicago and NYC where I worked for 12 years before coming out to Chi-town and I have to say without a doubt this is the best sushi I have had by far in Chicago. Chef BK is a master.
Fresh, innovative sushi and sashimi, beautifully presented. Lovely touches like fresh orchids and river rocks adorn the plates. The uni shooter is a winner. Fantastic sake selection and friendly, attentive service. A little pricey.
A hip, urban restaurant for both the see-and-be-seen set... and those who just want to dine on good food. While there are a number of cooked items from the kitchen, it's the sushi that shines at this restaurant. Be sure to try the chef's specialities, as many options are better than any offerings at other sushi restaurants in the city.
The sushi/sashimi here is so fresh! Everything is good however one problem that I encountered that stopped me from going for awhile was when the manager served me the last drops of a bottle equaling less than 3/4 of a glass and charged me full price - I thought that was beyond tacky. The good food brought me back but honestly the other dishes (non sushi and sashimi) were not as impressive.
Among the best sushi restaurants in Chicago. Above average prices but worth the money.
