Staff was friendly and attentive... that is the only good I can say. Unfortunately food was poor. Salad was totally overdressed. Veal was overcooked and salty. Seafood risotto should not be called risotto. Raw rice would be a better description. Seafood was overcooked consisting of inferior small shrimp, microscopic scallops and half of the bites I had were sandy from poor cleaning of the couple of clams and mussels. Worst dish ever.
I have hesitated to write this review because it's so bad. My husband and I decided to go out for Christmas Eve and we went to Arturo's in Floral Park, Queens. I ordered a stuffed artichoke that looked like it had been eaten by someone else. They took some leaves and put it around the plate. It wasn't in broth but in oil. We ordered chicken scapirello and it looked like small pieces of diced chicken in cream sauce. The worst meal I ever had.
All the dishes from the antipasti to dessert were great. It was a boys night out and we were stuffed!
Recommend the chicken scarpariello (get the dark meat on the bone). Spicy and juicy.
If at Belmont, stop in for dinner. It's a winner.
Had my daughters sweet 16 party with her & 36 of her closest friends (mostly Asian/Indian students from Hunter College High school) that had rarely eaten Italian food or tried any of the dishes prepared at Arturo's. It was an open menu (not a party plan menu). Every dish and desert was ordered and everyone loved the food. The waiters and Captain paid full attention to detail, the Singer was wonderful and everyone had a great time. 5 Stars.
First time I came it was empty, just me and my fiance. The servers were very attentive and the food was excellent - we raved for weeks. The second time was mediocre. It is traditional Norther Italian food - I'd recommend the zabaglione (italian custard) for desert, excellent.
