I really enjoyed this place. The staff was professional and very friendly. This is a beautiful place to take someone you want to impress! We had the raviolli, fried green tomatos, pork chops, fish, shrimp and grits, and quail. Everything was delish! I espcially liked the pork chops!!! Gotta go on thursday/friday nite, i hear they have great bloody marys.
This may very well be the best kept secret in New Orleans! The gumbo, shrimp and grits, Eggs Benedict and fried green tomatoes are to die for! For Dinner, the Boudin Stuffed Quail and Free-Form Crab Ravioli are pure Heaven! It's Smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood, about a 5 minute cab ride from the French Quarter, but worth every penny! I eat here a lot, my shop being 2 blocks away, and it never gets old!
Off the beaten path and all the better for it, this funky neighboorhod bistro specializes in delicious Southern dishes presented in a quirky and fantastic atmosphere. Two delicious appetizers are the pork belly and the crab cakes, and they also have a great Sunday brunch. For a delicious and authentic experience like the locals do it, Atchafalaya is a great choice.
Best Brunch we had in New Orleans. Had both the Eggs Atchafalaya (served with crawfish not crab) and the Eggs Benedict. Both were very tasty. Also had some apple wood smoked bacon and some Alligator Sausage. Bacon was very ordinary and I just didn't care for the sausage. Tasted too much like ordinary Kielbasa. Music was a bit loud but really enjoyed the Bloody Mary Bar. Would definitely return.
Loud. Overall food was good, service good. Nice wine list, nice warm greeting, and many thanks on the way out. Loud. We don't use salt at home, so the food tasted a little salty. Remoulade on fried green tomatoes lacked zing. Stuffed quail outstanding, very creative, pleasantly presented. Plenty small plate/large plate options. Redfish with crabmeat excellent. Very loud, did not stay for dessert. Too much chair bumping in aisle from staff
