Lunched twice. Food ratings - Fried Chicken: 7/10 (decent crispiness, a little too sweet, not the moistest chicken); the Burger "Au Cheval" (with egg): 7/10 (American cheese and sauce overwhelm the beef; roll is solid); Foie Gras & Fried Eggs: 8/10 (one-note texture and unappealing appearance outweighed by harmonious flavors); Fried Bologna Sandwich: 6/10 (not a bologna fan and not converted); Bone Marrow: 6/10 (barely above average marrow).
Tried to go at 7 PM Thursday night and was quoted a 3 hour wait, so I went for lunch on Friday at 130 PM and sat right down at the bar. 6 booths, 10 small tables, and a dozen bar seats, not a lot of room. Dark room, even in daytime, eclectic music mix, open kitchen includes salty banter among cooks and waitstaff. Service very good, very friendly. I ordered the English Breakfast, excellent. I wouldn't wait 3 hrs. for a meal here, but I'd come back
A great menu that should only be attempted ever so often. Very eclectic food selection with most offerings available with an egg on top. The food is very rich, borderline gluttonous. The scene is very dim-light with a spotlight to the center of the table to give focus to the food that's served. Can be crowded at times, but service is excellent and to a point very frank and casual with professionalism.
