Great home cooking at these kosher diners. I always have dinner here at least once when I am in Nassau. Having tried pastrami at a half dozen places in the city and LI, Ben's is right up there with the best. (Don't order lean.) Great chicken noodle and matzo balls. Service is right on top of it (and you.) Gotta love it.
Everything we had was an absolute delight and we certainly can't wait to come through again! Another little tidbit of information for all you foodies out there, keep an eye out on Ben's social media throughout 2012 -- since this year is their 40th Birthday; they are celebrating by offering daily specials like a half-pound of 'something special' for only .40 cents or a full meal for $19.72. Very cool theme and a great reason to check them out.
Very commercialized. the quality of pastrami isnt there. not worth it
Chicken soup and big sandwiches served in a unadorned dining room. The fresh rye bread and pickles are worth a visit.
mediocre at best compared to NYC's best. Food so-so, decor ugly, service indifferent, portions get smaller each year. I need an alternative.
