Spacious, pleasant-food was exceptional. Agemono chicken was outstanding. Sushi like they just caught it.
Average sushi and sashimi - certainly nothing exceptional. The salmon was good, but the fluke was almost frozen and the tuna was clearly several days old or improperly stored (very dried out, flavorless, not the usual creamy texture). Yellowtail was decent. Portion sizes range from good to average value. Service too was hit and miss. Will visit a second time to see if my first visit was an anomaly.

We have been long time and loyal customers of Benten.My wife and children are of japanese heritage and honor is something that the Japanese culture is based on. I have never been so disrespected in a resturant then when I went to Benten last night for take out at 9:20 when they close at 10 and was abruptly turned away by Shoko. I geuss Ken the Sushi chef and owner knows nothing of honoring your loyal customers! I'll now go to Kimii's in Port
If the fish were any fresher it would bite YOU. Try the lobster tempura roll. Out of this world. Best Japanese East of Nobu.
