Very disappointed. Started with not able to decide between 2 wines. The server never once offered to give me a taste. The fried calamari appetizer was all rings that were chewy..not crispy at all. The eggplant rolatini was burnt & tasted like it was leftover for a week & the server asked if I would you like some pasta with it & then added another $6.00 to the bill for the pasta. Very bad experience. Food was awful for a $100.00 tab.
WOW, what a surprise. Needed a halfway stop between LI and Boston - got off 95 in Stratford and my Garmin found this spot. Excellent food and friendly service in a small stripmall. The Osso Buco was supurb and much better than what I had at Roberto's in the Bronx two weeks ago.
We stumbled upon this Osteria while out riding our bikes, and had an unhurried, well-prepared luncheon in their outside, covered sunroom. The service was impeccable; the bread was warm with just the right amount of crunch, accompanied by both olive oil and a very tasty, fresh bruschetta. Our appetizers and entrees were done to perfection, and the level of adult conversation was a background buzz, set to Sinatra & Como (hate noisy restaurants).
Very good neighborhood restaurant. Wonderful food especially home made pastas. Very good service. Friendly. Not a pretentious restaurant. Our favorite Connecticut Italian restaurant.
I am embarrassed to say that this was a last minute "second choice" for Mother's Day when the first restaurant lost our reservations. This should have been our first choice! Great Southern Italian food, done in a special way. Service was great, someone was always attending to our table. Desserts were unique and delicious. Wasn't sure how it would be from the location, but it's a classy place!
