My husband & I flew in from Texas for a conference & made reservations at Bistro du Midi b/c the Internet showed they had foie gras. Not only did we get the best foie gras that we have ever had but we also had our palates experience tastes we didn't know existed. We enjoyed it so much that we came back 2 nights later. Both waiters (Robert, 1st night & Ray, 2nd night) were very knowledgable and timed each course perfectly. We will be back!
The first floor is laid back with exceptionally fine food - Casual and good food are not an easy combination to find in Boston. Fortunately at Bistro du Midi casual does't spoil the service.
One of the few restaurants that manages to always get it right: Bistro du Midi. The marinated octopus was the highlight of the meal, along with the lavender beignets with chocolate dipping sauce. Their wine cellar is impressive, and they have one of the longest wine lists I have seen in a restaurant. More here: http://molltk3.blogspot.com/2012/07/a-busy-day-in-boston.html
Great food, location and decor; service is decent but a little too informal, bordering on sloppy; they have minor league servers for what is a major league establishment
The Mediteranian Sea Bass is to die for.
