Love. Love. Love Bistro Voltaire. It's the next best thing to being in Paris. Very authentic. Great food. Warm and romantic. They also have a terrific wine list and the staff is eager to help in making selections. I could eat here every day which says a lot. Bistro Voltaire is a real special find just west Michigan Avenue and steps from the Chicago "L" stop. Perfect for dates and afterwork libations.
The entre was excellent, as was the desert, but alas, the appetizer wasn't. Waiter described it one way, it came out very different, which was okay, but tasteless. Pleasant surroundings, as you'd expect a French bistro to look, but long, and narror, cramped/tight area. Will go back, as I went when the restaurant was only opened a couple of weeks.
Bistro Voltaire's menu is very creative and the food is absolutely divine. The flavors are delicate and refined, and each dish is beautifully plated and lovingly served. The wine list is very well-selected. Chef Beaumier has quite a following, and I am so
Great neighborhood, wonderful service
Neighborhood cafe needs to do its homework and make sure menu comes closer to describing the kitchen output. Otherwise, it is a delight.
