I have no idea why this establishment has any positive ratings. The food is bland, tasteless, and uninteresting. The decor is charming, in a way, but nothing extraordinary (old photographs on the walls, eclectic semi-antique tables and chairs, old floor boards, and quilts hanging from the rafters). The service is non-existent- maybe this is the "feminist" part. The food was barely eatable.
Unfortunately, they were closed with no business hours posted at the door when we made the trip all the way to Bridgeport for a visiting vegan. We even tried to call before setting out, and since the line was constantly busy and the reviews so good, we assumed they were open but very busy.
Aside from a few very friendly stray cats wandering about it the lot, the place looked abandoned. We said our goodbye to the cats, and went somewhere else.
I don't know how this got into my reviews, since I haven't been there yet. But I do want to go.
Cheers for this excellent women's restaurant (although all invited)complete with historical images that line the walls. It is a tribute to the owners who have perfected their vegetarian cusine now available in two cookbooks on sale. On Long Island Sound it takes more than a few turns off of I95 but well worth it.
Great clean fresh food at a fair price.
