Friend and myself had lunch here last week. The place was dirty. The food the worst I may ever have had. We had 4 dishes. Their "award winning" grilled calamari. It was awful. First bite, all I tasted was burned. And that stayed with the whole 'small' dish. It tasted like the grill was not cleaned. And everything else we had was not good at all. Ate on patio amid MANY dead hanging plants. Never again.
Great little place in Westport, we were in this past weekend. I love the lamb shank and the calamari. My wife is a big fan of the scallops. The lava cake is to die for and worth the wait. Prices are fair as are the portions. Consistently good, never had a bad meal. The new bar and manager have added some nice new energy. Definitely worth a visit.
The deceptive pricing--and subsequent attitude of the staff--left me with a decidedly bad taste in my mouth. In every listing of the restaurant, the entrees range from $25 to $25. The waitress mentioned a fish special without specifying its price, which turned out to be $45. This might have been chalked up to a lack of communication, but the assistant manager became defensive and nasty when this was addressed, which will prevent us from returning
My most recent visit to Blue Lemon on a Sunday evening was very disappointing. Perhaps it was an "off night". The service was horrible and the food was virtually tasteless. This had been one of my favorite restaurants in the area, but now I will have to think twice before returning. I hope this represents a rare occurrence rather than a decline in the quality of what had been one of my favorite restaurants in the area.
One of my all time favorites
