Our dinner for two was a disappointment. We were seated for our 8:00 pm reservation around 8:45. While waiting we took a seat at the bar where our greeting from the bartender was a list of all the things that she needed to do before we were going to be served anything to drink. When seated, our waitress was harried, food slow in it's arrival, and my featured monkfish was tasteless and tough.
On a business trip an associate gifted me with a memorable experience. We arrived early and spoke with the chef for a few minutes. What a charming and down to earth young man! What followed was a culinary experience right out of a luxury travel digest. Not only was the variety and preparation of game top notch but the presentation and service matched my most vaulted expectations. The only slight down play was the abbreviated wine list.
Greatest place ever. Better than a $1,500.0 meal at number 1 rates place in Denmark
I have known Jon since he was born. I know how much he loves to prepare meals and how hard he trained to be a chef. I eat out alot. I have eaten at a lot of nice restaurants. I have eaten at Bonnell's. I have been so impressed with the dcor, the ambience, the food and the service. Vote for Bonnell's. I can't imagine that anyone else is even in the running.
"Outstanding. Great value - pick 4 apps for $13, so I tried the Blue Crab Gazpacho, Elk Taco w/side of Grits, Venison Carpaccio, and Texas Bruschetta, served with a small salad..a lot of food. Then I went for the game combo - Andouille Sausage, Wild Boa"""
