The LV spin-offs of most name chef restaurants seem to have lost something in the translation. Susan and Mary Sue's food seems the exception to that rule and may be ever better than my last trip to the BG in Santa Monica. With such basically simple food, the ingredients are allowed to shine forth.
Came here for lunch during a convention (reservations definitely needed). The short rib taco special was good, as was the recommended guacamole. Portions were perfect if you don't want to overeat for lunch. The service was prompt considering it was packed. They really advertised the celebrity chefs, but they were no where to be seen. While the food was good, it did not wow me. I have been to many other gourmet Mexican restaurant that have.
We had eaten here 4 years ago and ally liked it. Often when going back after that time period it can disappoint but Border Grill did not. It was by busy but we were seated right away outside. Or server made great recommendations and the food was fresh and fantastic. We will come back every time we are in Las Vegas.
The salsas are all amazing! Loved the Yucatan pork. The chile relleno hamburger was excessive yet fantastic. Also recommend the watermelon mojito. Overall great authentic Mexican fusion with ultra cool decor.
Very good Southwestern cuisine. Thumbs up!
