The trick is to brunch there on saturday, otherwise it can be crowded and the service suffers. But if you try the odds are you'll be back.
Wonderful! Will certainly eat here again the next time we visit Houston.
The restaurant opened in 2007 has become a sophisticated little place with fantastic food. Upon entering Brasserie Max & Julie (owned by neither Max or Julie but by Chris and Laurence Paul who also own Cafe Rabelais in Rice Village) I am struck I by the comfortable, authentic, intimate atmosphere which allows one to believe for a moment that they are not in the middle of Houston, but instead in a brasserie located within a French village.
Great French fare.
"Real brasserie atmosphere, staff, decor and menu. The food is prepared and presented in an authentic French fashion. Great cellar. Consistently good. One of my favorites"
