"Fishy" tasting sole; sautéd sweetbreads in off-tasting breadcrumbs; desserts quite tasty; décor plain dull.
A deeply mediocre culinary experience on the occasions I have dined here. Despite a promising bistro style French menu the food manages to achieve extraordinary levels of blandness. Management who just don't get it - such as cramming twos into tables for two when the restaurant is empty and a barely disguised lack of interest in the customers. Most of the clientele are on life support systems so they probably don't notice. Poor.
Food and service are spotty. I've had some excellent small plates, while others are mediocre. Small plates are reasonably priced at $5-7. Have not been impressed with their entrees. Had friends who went for Thanksgiving and said it was a disaster. Nice location downtown Fairfield within walking distance from train.
Was not good when St Tropez, thought we'd give it a 2nd chance, but will never go back. Worst meal and wait staff ever. Was cheap & tasted it. For lunch we had burger drowned in lumpy cheese sauce with bowl of limp fries, and soggy salmon over slimey diced onion with a few bits of pepper. Dessert: brownie - a rubbery disc of tasteless brown jello. Took us 45 mins to pay, as waiter was either on phone with his back to all diners, or absent.
Everyone's food was delicious and hot. The decor is pleasant and the atmosphere is very lively. The service was very good considering the restaurant was very busy.
