The simplest food is the best. Appetizers vary in size. The rack of lamb is excellent.

Because we were attending an event at the Bookstore across the street, we gave Cafe Allegre another chance, and were most pleasantly surprised. The young waiter was excellent, the Southern Italian dishes were particularly tasty, and the meal was a very good value

The place to be seen in Madison. Food is very good, if unimaginative. Bartender could use some remedial training.

Great downtown Madison location. Menu items focus on traditional Italian, with great sauce, also sold separately. Many specials for lunch and dinner. Reservations recommended for early evenings.
