Get off the LIE, turn off the service road, and hit the brakes...unprepossessing strip mall exterior hides a classic Italian place...they'll make you almost anything you can think of, but the specials are to die for...huge, reasonably-priced wine list...assertive flavors, supremely fresh ingredients, succulent sauces...attentive staff and owner...the best western Suffolk has to offer, and that's not meant as an insult...

The best veal chop I've ever had ! The menu has some temptations beyond traditional Italian dishes, but those are wonderful.

Food was good(although not as good as the first few times I went a few years ago). Service is always excellent. Decor is dated. I would go here for good Italian anytime.

The food was good but I got the diarrhea of my life. My co-worker threw up after we came back to work. I never reviewed a restaurant before but I wanted to warn other people....

Cafe La Strada is the Rao's of Long Island. The basic menu is like Sunday dinner at grandma's. The specials menu, which is predictable but always outstanding, brings this off the beaten track gem to another level. Could have the best wine list in the area. This is a place were regulars are met with affection. However, the service is consistent but does not always hit the mark. An effort is being made to upgrade the look.
